PROGRAM:
Corbett is past president of the Skyline Club. Corbett says that for our club to be relevant 10 years from now we need to diversify. By diversification he means younger people, more ladies, different religions, and different ethnic groups. Rotary International is the most diverse organization in the world with 1.3 million members in almost every nation on earth. Our local clubs need to mirror this diversity.
Corbett’ Bullet Points:
- RI & TRF are good stewards of your money. Check
www.charitynavigator.com.
- Stress networking & fellowship opportunities.
- Bring in relevant & high profile speakers.
- Give real responsibilities to new members, listen to
their feedback, integrate their suggestions if
appropriate, make them feel appreciated.
- Eliminate obstacles to their becoming a member, i.e.
a break in dues, comp time with charity project = $
toward dues.
- Include Red Badge program for new members.
- Offer fellowship, hands on projects; get new members
involved.
- Communicate to newer members the service projects,
scholarships, etc. that your club sponsors.
- Be passionate about Rotary & share the joy!
Great program. Thanks Corbett.
MEMBERS ABSENT:
Susie, Jason, Travis. We missed you.
WISDOM:
- To be able to lead others, a man must be willing to
go forward alone. Harry S. Truman, 33rd U.S. president.
- A ship in port is safe, but that is not what ships
are for. Sail out to sea and do new things. Grace Hopper,
admiral.
- Life without risk is not worth living. Charles
Lindbergh, aviator.
