ROTARY MOMENT:
George detailed the proposal of a new member:
- Invite him or her to a meeting
- Gauge the interest of the potential member
- Submit for membership,
- Involve the new member in committees and club activities such as Rotaract, and Interact, club socials and district conference.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Robert reminded us of our Wings Over Houston parking project on October 31, and November 1. We will need 40 people per day.
- Sam announced that the Alief Family YMCA will sponsor a blood drive with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center on September 26 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at 7850 Howell-Sugarland Road.
- Nugent Myrick asked that any member of our club who wishes to assist the downtown Houston Rotary Club in their humanitarian efforts with cancer patients at M.D. Anderson Hospital please be at the Rotary House on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
- Travis brought back club banners from Rotary clubs in Morwell and Hazlewood, Australia near Melbourne.
